It's been a month or so in Ireland. Have to say its been one of the best experiences so far. Still slightly shy to try new things but in this next month its my goal to be 'yes man' and not restrict myself from fun and memorable memories. Money is an issue though, so have to budget the Euros right or else I am going to have think of clever cardboard boxes and dance around or something so people can give me alms.
This past week has been great. Monday was quiet. Tuesday went out after work with a co-intern and met new friends from the program. It was 2 euro night at the this place called Dicey's. It's a great place. I drank alot, ate the best burger (beef!), and drunkenly told my life story to new people. hahaha. One funny moment was, when I went to the toilet I started talking to the toilet service attendant about love and girls, etc. It is perhaps one of my favorite memories because despite all our differences through gender, cultural, religion, nationalities, ethnicity, social network use (facebook or google+ or myspace), etc. we all come together through love. if only we would be just a little patient to understand each other, world would be a better place. i talked to this man and he opened up to me. it was great. also, the second time around i went to toilet i got lost in the three-story bar and walked through and around people to get back to my table....for 40 mins. fml.
Wednesday night was hard at work. I was hungover and could get barely any work done. However I got it done and came and napped. Thursday was better at work and it seems like last few weeks are going to be boring with what the my supervisor and the rest of the credit and collections team wants us to do. But hey, data management is a useful skill and experience.
Thursday night, went out in the night. It was a good night, because I was really pumped and excited and cheery to begin the night. But then soon I had to calm down because people around me were not as pumped. Friday, morning was quite awful. I was off work, but we had to go to UCD for a 'class', all that the prof. did was ask us if we had any questions and then told us it has high expectations from us on something I really don't see the point to.
--> We have to do two papers. First, a reflective paper regarding our learning and cultural experiences in Ireland. Second, a research paper regarding a topic in business, finance, economics.
Anyways, once we got back I stayed in bed for the next 7-8 hours so I could just chill and be as lazy as possible. It was a good time. I watched Transformers 3. Not disappointed but I do want to watch all three movies back to back to back. Optimus Prime is my role model. hahaha.
Around 10:30p when I was getting ready to call it a night, my friend told me to come over. I didn't drink at all that night except for the most perfect Long Island Ice Tea. yumyumyum. We were celebrating one of our friend's upcoming (at midnight) 21st bday. Went to a place called Rody's. Great bar. Great place. Great people. Music was good. Waitresses were cute and they would deliver your drinks to your table.
--> Alrite so the one thing that's been bothering me in Ireland is that people here 'dance' very differently. Guys and Girls here dance like its junior prom and you can't touch each other because you are still going through an awkward phase of puberty/touching. They are also slow to the beats. But, I am sure they are having fun so, good for them. to each his own. I just wanted to share that.
We were at the upper level, where not many people were around, except two couples double dating. The men sat down and drank and talked about big business, while their women stepped onto the dance floor and had a baller time. (baller = really good time).
Saturday morning, woke up. Again stayed in bed for a little bit and then went grocery shopping. I bought alot of cereal, granola bars, milk, chilli ketchup, bread, chicken, etc. and bought premixed cola and capt. morgan in a can (pretty good), and Kobra beer (it's indian and better than Budweiser). Mmm, also then went over to my friend's for his 21st and we played beer pong, 1-2 record. It was whole lotta fun. As most of the group was to Cork this weekend, it was just four or five of us that ended up going out. One of my friend's roommates makes absolutely the best chocolate frosting from scratch. We went out late and ended up going to this place called Coppers. It is a dual floored dance place. We went downstairs and it was full of people. the birthday boy danced with a girl who was a 10/10. I tried dancing with her friend, she was a complete poopieface. Most girls are. hahahaha. jk.
We walked back and went to a kebab place called Tasty Grill. There I talked in Hindi/Urdu to two guys, an Afganistani guy and Pakistani guy. Really nice people, and must of our conversations were regarding their cultural experiences in Ireland since they moved here. Both were like 24-26 and married with working at the restaurant as their primary jobs. Hopefully they will find jobs closer to their dreams. But it was great to talk in hindi again. And my donner kebar was double the size of the normal and charged me only 6 euro. So life is good.
Long post. I hope you are doing well,

I am supposed to be working on a paper. However, I am having a really bad writer's block so I thought I write here.
I have about a month left till I have to get back home. August 8th is my date set for return to the States. Hopefully this time around the flight will be 10 hours like its supposed to be and not require a stay in at the Philadelphia airport, which mind you is a decent airport with terrible professionals as workers.
Life's been good here. My workweek is from Monday - Thurs. My roommate and I work at the same place Bentley Systems International. So when he wake up, I wake up. My first week I bought lunch from a nearby sandwich place which is pretty good. All this week I made myself something edible. Luckily, they had food for us at the office since it was the end of the financial quarter and the managers need some good work with faster results. Or they were just being nice.
I haven't been up to much lately. Work is tiring so come back and watch numerous episodes of Simpsons and Friends.
Last night went out with everyone. Pre-gamed hard. Finished a 200 ml of Jack Daniel's and Absolut. Had a good time from what I remember. And prolly said and did stupid stuff. Don't care. It was a fun night.
Today was tough. I've had a hangover all day. Feel like shit. Have to do a paper, but probably won't get to it until tomorrow morning. AH
I am starting to miss everyone back home. Its 4th of July weekend. I want to buy boat shoes. I can't find any...someone help!
Just finished watching Total Recall, and now watching Coming to America (unedited)...absolutely hilarious
On a more serious note, can't wait to be back home.
take care
keep it classy, keep smiling :)
